Congratulations!
You did it. You took the jump and now you are one step close to becoming the most confident you. Remember this is something different. It’s going to take a little time to get use to wearing a hair system. Give it a chance. A new hair system needs time to break in. Like a good pair of shoes, as you wear them they begin to mold to you, absorb your oil and become more comfortable. The same goes with a new hair system. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out, that is what I’m here for
So what now? Here are my rules and recommendations for wearing hair. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to email me at hrbyitzel@gmail.com.
New Hair Post-Care Instructions
-
Rule #1
DO NOT was your hair 24-48 hours after we apply your new system. The system needs time to fully adhere. Please be patient.
-
Rule #2
Gently brush your hair every day. While you brush, you want to hold the front of the hair system to prevent it from lifting. Brush on a daily basis, both in the morning and evening. This prevents the hair from tangling.
-
Rule #3
Do not use strong hold products such as strong hold hair spray, strong pomades, waxes & gels. Once again, the systems do not produce their own oil, so the product doesn’t break down properly and no amount of washing will get it out.
-
Rule #4
Do not rub or create friction when washing, drying or styling your hair. Use a patting motion instead. This will avoid matting the system.
-
Rule #5
No not lift, tug, or pull on the system after spending time in the water, whether it’s in the shower, swimming, etc. The adhesive needs time to dry in order for it to adhere again.
-
Rule #6
Use gentle and hydrating products. These systems don’t produce their own oil so you need to supplement with products that will add moisture. Such as leave in conditioners, hair oils, hydrating shampoo/conditioners.
Post-Care Recommendations
-
How often do I wash your hair?
Wash your hair every 2 days. It’s important because it adds moisture to the hair and promotes scalp health. Use a gentle moisturizing/hydrating shampoo and conditioner.
-
Prevent fading
It is very normal for hair systems to fade in color. Use a hat if you will be spending an extended amount of time outdoors. This will prevent excessive fading on the hair.
-
Can I use hot tools?
Absolutely! Use low to medium heat when you are blowdrying your hair. If you are going to use a hot tool such as a curling iron or flat iron, use a low to medium heat no higher than 380 degrees.
DO NOT USE HEAT if your system is synthetic. -
Do not out yourself!
Unless you want to, you are not obligated to tell anyone that you are wearing a hair system. It is no ones business but yours. You don’t need to announce it. Wear it with confidence. You look amazing!
